Our Policies

  • Upon enrollment, you must present a physician’s statement, including a TB (tuberculin)clearanceand documented up-to-date immunizations, as well as all state forms supplied.

  • Notify us in case of illness or absence.  This helps us adjust staff and notify other parents.  The American Pediatrics Association recommends that it is suitable for mildly ill children (colds, clear runny nose, or cough) to attend day care.  However, children with vomiting, high fever, yellow/green mucus, diarrhea, chicken pox, conjunctivitis, or ear infections are not suitable unless they have been treated with antibiotics and are not contagious (24 hours approximately) and are in good spirits.

  • We expect parents to take an interest in our program.  Talk with your children about our activities and pick up their artwork (children are natural artists).  Bring your child well rested and appropriately dressed for indoor, outdoor and messy play.

  • Please provide an extra set of clothing, toothbrush, diapers, and wipes as needed.  NO pull-ups please.  Approximately 3-4 changes are made daily.  Toilet training generally begins around two and one half or later.  Children will let you know when they are ready by telling you they have to go, or by modeling the procedure: taking their diapers off, etc.  Please don’t push this process, force your child to sit for long periods of time, or inhibit the process by tight fitting cloths: overalls, belts, long shirts or fussy dresses and tights.  Nothing stops the procedure quicker than getting all caught up in your clothes or accidents complicated places.  Tie shoes are NOT permitted as they are dangerous in group settings.

  • Refrain from gum or sweet food snacks.  A few “Cheerios” to munch on in the car should be fine.  Birthdays or special treats for the group should be discussed ahead of time for nutritional and/or dietary restrictions.

  • In September, a pre-school fee of $50.00 for materials will be due for the year.

  • Pick your child up promptly.  It is important not to emotionally upset the children’s anticipation of a parent’s arrival and the transition into the evening hours.  Late fees will be charged.
