About Us

MY BACKGROUND......

I have been in the early childhood field for over 30 years.  I graduated from Northeastern University and have taken many graduate level courses at other institutions.  I opened Creative Kids in 1985 after leaving the corporate world to raise my three youngest children.  Creative Kids is an infant/toddler preschool that services a diverse population of children three months to five years of age.

I am a member of Action for Children and the Early Childhood Network of Rogers Park and Edgewater.  I studied at Reggio Emelia Schools of Italy, took the Design Institute Spirit of Place at Harvard University, and the Infant Toddler Program for Caregivers through the Center for Children and Family Studies in Sausalito, California.

I am also an active trainer for the Illinois Network of Childcare Resource and Referral Agencies.  I teach workshops designed for parents and caregivers to understand social and emotional development along with issues of temperament from teething to toileting, what works, best practices and what to expect from your child care arrangements.  I have been trained on early assessment and special needs inclusion as well as literacy for learning.

My program is accredited through the National Association of Family Child Care and I have my Illinois Directors Credential.

I was a finalist for the KOHL McCormick Teaching Awards as well as the Unsung Hero award from the Women’s Business and Development Center for advocacy.
